  17. <p>     EIGHT IS NOT ENOUGH. It was not so long ago that Ted Turner
  18. found himself allied with Jerry Falwell and other Moral
  19. Majority leaders in protesting sex and violence on TV. Then
  20. something--God knows what--happened. Last year Turner's
  21. superstation WTBS banned all religious programming, including
  22. Falwell's Old-Time Gospel Hour. Now antiabortion activists,
  23. whom the cable mogul has publicly called "bozos," are furious
  24. because Turner's CNN broadcast an early National Park Service
  25. estimate of 60,000 supporters at the recent Washington rally,
  26. rather than the 500,000 claimed by pro-lifers. And, accepting
  27. an award as Humanist of the Year at a convention in Orlando,
  28. Turner, who has called Christianity a "religion for losers,"
  29. had some harsh words for his own upbringing, saying "Religion
  30. was pounded into us so much that I was saved seven or eight
  31. times."
